The Conway Springs Cardinals boys basketball team got its first win of the season last Saturday as it defeated Haven 4233 in the fifth-place game at the Kingman Eagle Classic.

The Campus Colts picked up their second victory of the season with a 63-53 victory over the visiting Andover Central Jaguars. This was the Colts’ second straight home win.

The Eisenhower Tigers boys basketball team hosted Maize on Friday, Dec. 8, losing 57-44.

The Clearwater Indians girls basketball team raced out to an early lead last Tuesday and never looked back to take a 51-33 win over the visiting Arkansas City Bulldogs. Clearwater (1-1) opened a 19-7 lead after the opening period and pushed its advantage to 33-15 by halftime.

The Garden Plain girls basketball team went 2-1 in play at the Hesston tournament this week. Garden Plain, Hesston, Rose Hill and Nickerson play a round-robin tournament annually, rotating hosting duties.

The Goddard Lions girls played their second game of the season at Buhler on Tuesday, Dec. 5, winning 45-39.

The Argonia Raiders girls basketball team gathered some needed momentum as it took two out of three games at the Border Queen Tournament and placed third in the annual classic hosted by Caldwell. The Raiders won 44-26 at Oxford last Tuesday, but fell to Norwich 47-28 last Friday at home.

The Goddard Lions girls wrestling team made the trip to Great Bend last weekend for the Christmas Clash and one wrestler came home with a topfour finish. Breann Bradley (170 pounds) won four matches by pin and ended up taking fourth at the event.

The Eisenhower Tigers boys and girls wrestling teams headed to Douglass last weekend to compete in the Douglass Goodwill Invitational, with the boys wrestling last Saturday and the girls taking to the mats the day before that.

The Campus Colts girls wrestling team turned in a solid performance at the Douglass Goodwill Invitational last Friday, finishing seventh at the 22-team event and placing four wrestlers in the top four.
