It would be safe to add “Campus girls win State bowling.” The Colts added another trophy to their trophy case with a dominant Class 6A championship last Friday at Bowlero Northrock in Wichita.

TSnews The Argonia Raiders boys basketball team could not overcome an early deficit in its Class 1A Division II substate opener last Tuesday and lost 44-39 at Ashland. The Raiders ended their season with a record of 7-15.

Friday win puts Colts into substate

TSnews A win by the Campus boys basketball team has advanced the Colts into this week’s Class 6A substate tournament. The Colts beat the Salina Central Mustangs 56-55 last Friday in Haysville.

Lions boys season ends

TSnews The Goddard Lions boys basketball season came to a close last week. The team finished 17th in Class 5A West, missing the 16-team cutoff to be invited to play in a sub-state game this week.

Indians end season with losses

TSnews The Clearwater Indians boys basketball team ended its season with a pair of losses last week, falling 64-43 at Wellington last Tuesday and 57-24 to Andale last Thursday at Clearwater. The Indians end the season with a record of 1-19.

Owls win substate opener

TSnews Last Friday, the eighth-seeded Garden Plain Owls won their Class 3A substate opener 58-41 over the visiting Trojans of Southeast of Saline, seeded ninth. The Owls slowly built up a lead through the first three quarters, holding a 37-31 advantage going into the fourth quarter before closing the game on a 21-10 run.

Wichita Classical ends Cardinals’ season

TSnews The Conway Springs Cardinals boys basketball team could not dig out of an early hole as it fell to Wichita Classical 56-44 in the opening round of Class 2A substate play last Thursday in Conway Springs. “I thought on paper it was a 50-50 game for us,” Conway Springs coach Paul Lange said.
