Body TSnews The Garden Plain Owls wrestling team had three wrestlers bring home medals from the always-tough Halstead Invitational last weekend.

Body TSnews The Cheney Cardinals boys and girls wrestling teams took just seven wrestlers to last weekend’s Halstead Invitational, but six of them came back with medals. Parker McClellan (150 pounds) led the way for the boys, winning all three of his matches to take the title.

Body TSnews The Goddard Lions boys and girls wrestling teams headed to Newton last week for its annual Tournament of Champions, with four boys winning titles last Saturday and one girl medaling last Thursday.

Body TSnews The Campus Colts boys and girls wrestling teams both went to the Clearwater Invitational last Saturday and each team came home with one individual champion and several other medalists.

Body TSnews The Campus Colts girls basketball team dropped two games last week to ranked teams, starting with a 69-34 loss at the Derby Panthers, the No. 3 team in Class 6A in last week’s KCBA rankings.

Body TSnews The Cheney Cardinals advanced in the Adolph Rupp Invitational with Monday’s 68-18 win over the Rose Hill Rockets on Monday in Halstead. The Cardinals raced out to a 45-10 halftime lead, and then held the Rockets to just 8 points in the second half.

Body TSnews The Garden Plain boys basketball team used a hot start to each half to earn a 49-35 road win over the Trinity Academy Knights on Jan. 14.

Body TSnews The Conway Springs Cardinals girls basketball team won all three of its games last week to improve to 8-2 on the season. Two blowout wins were sandwiched around a hard-fought 36-32 win over Chaparral last Thursday in a makeup of a Jan.

Body TSnews The Goddard Lions girls basketball team hosted Newton Friday, winning 45-25. Early on in the game’s first quarter, there was very little offense outside of free throws.
