Body The Conway Springs Cardinals girls basketball team shook off a slow start to open 2025 with a 47-32 road win over the Belle Plaine Dragons last Tuesday.

Body The Garden Plain Owls pushed the visiting Dodge City Red Demons to the final buzzer, but it was the Red Demons who came out on top, 66-63, in last Wednesday’s boys basketball game. The game was delayed one night because of winter weather.

Body The Garden Plain Owls wrestling team had five wrestlers place at the Ellsworth Wrestling Tournament last Saturday to kick off the new year in solid fashion. “Ellsworth is a tough tournament with lots of good teams,” Garden Plain coach Travis Daerr said.

Body The Goddard Lions boys and girls wrestling teams headed to Dodge City last Friday and Saturday for the Dodge City Invite, with the boys winning five individual titles and just missing out on winning the tournament.

Body The Campus Colts girls basketball had a big moment on Friday afternoon, beating the Wichita West Pioneers 55-15. The game, originally set for Friday morning at Park City Arena as part of the GWAL-AVCTL Challenge, was played in the afternoon and relocated to Wichita South.

Body The Garden Plain girls basketball team improved its record to 4-3 with a 48-35 home win over the Dodge City Red Demons. It was the Owls’ only game last week.

Body The Eisenhower Tigers boys basketball team hosted the crosstown Goddard Lions on Friday, Jan. 10, coming away with a 64-43 win.
