Ellen Y Bishop, 70, of Kingman, passed away March 14, 2024, at Wheatlands Health Care Center in Kingman.

Ellen was born March 8, 1954, in Kingman to Bydus H. and Anna Marie Dixon Taber. She spent her early years living in Kingman, graduating from Kingman High School in 1972. Ellen later went on to earn her master’s degree in human resources from Friends University, leading her to a long career in human resources and her membership in the Society for Human Resources.

Barbara Sue Morris

Barbara Sue Morris, age 59, died at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Mo., on March 10. 2024.

She was born Nov. 13, 1964, in Slidell, La., to William Fletcher and Artis Bates Morris. They preceded her in death.

She is survived by partner James Booker and daughter Samantha Morris, both of Houston, Mo.; sister, Becky (Dan) Funke of Goddard; several nieces; and other extended family.

John Alvin Hillman, 64, passed away on March 11, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family.
John was born to Alvin and Thelma Hillman in Wichita on Nov. 4, 1959. John married Debbie Diskin on July 31, 1982, and together they had two children, Nic and Shelby.
John was an auctioneer for 34 years, and he owned Hillman Sales and Auction Service. He also was a realtor for Farm and Home Realty in Cheney, and he was a distributor for WW Manufacturing Company.

Francis Bernard Kraus

Francis Bernard Kraus, 90, of Conway Springs, died Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Spring View Manor, Conway Springs.

Bernard was born July 10, 1933, near Garden Plain to Arthur Joseph Kraus and Margaret (Cordes) Kraus. He moved with his family to Conway Springs on August 1, 1935. The family resided on a farm 5 miles southwest of town where Bernard attended Springdale rural school for three years. He attended grades 4-8 at St. Joseph Catholic School before graduating from Conway Springs High School with the class of 1951.

Fred J. Lange, Jr

Fred J. Lange, Jr., 73, of Conway Springs, passed away, Friday, March 8, 2024, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.

He was born Dec. 31, 1950, in Wichita to Fredrick Joseph Lange and Addie Valetta (Cline) Lange. He grew up in the Conway Springs community, where he attended St. Joseph Catholic School and Conway Springs public schools. He began working for Mid-Kansas Construction in Wichita as a young man.

Bruce Alan Richardson

Bruce Alan Richardson, born on April 16, 1961, in Wichita, to parents Vernon C. Richardson and Carol J. Richardson, went to be with the Lord on Feb. 22, 2024.

He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon; son, Seth; and brother, Timothy. Survivors include his children, Kyle (Rhonda) Richardson, and Erica Richardson; mother, Carol Richardson; siblings, Clint (Ramona) Richardson, and Phil (Lori) Richardson; Cathie Richardson (mother of Kyle and Erica); and soon-to-be grandchild; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation with family present will from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 7, with rosary following at 7 p.m., and funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 8, all at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, Schulte.

Teresa Ann Thomas, 62, of Wichita, home health aide and customer service representative, died on Feb. 26, 2024.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Maynard Oliverius and Patricia Joan Oliverius; and sister, Michelle Lea Oliverius. She is survived by her husband, Thad Thomas; sister, Marcella Hoefner (Ture); children, Tiffani Mahaney, and Ian Bratt (Racheal); five beautiful grandchildren; and nephew, Nolan Hoefner.
Gone but never forgotten. Rest in peace. Private services for family.
