CONWAY SPRINGS – Two students have been named as the Sepember artists of the month at Conway Springs High School. Adysen Conkle, a junior and Art 2 student, was chosen for her charcoal drawing, “Weep.” It will be on display all month at Vintage Bank.

TSnews Patterson Family Farms in Valley Center was honored as a Sesquicentennial Farm at the Sedgwick County Farm Bureau annual meeting. The land was bought in spring of 1875 and has stayed in the family since, said Josh Patterson, current owner of the farm.

TSnews It might be a bit of an understatement to say that Paisley Haskins had a Sumner County Fair to remember this summer. The Conway Springs girl won a long list of honors at both the Sumner County Fair in Caldwell and at the Sumner County 4-H Fair in Wellington.

Hemberger’s quilt takes first at Sumner County Fair

TSnews Joan Hemberger’s award-winning quilt at the Sumner County Fair in Caldwell was an endeavor years in the making. Hemberger’s quilt took “seven or eight years” to make, but it was worth it in the end, as the Argonia native’s handiwork won grand champion in the open class at the Fair.
