The new HAC began operations a month ago, but last week's event served as both a celebration of the facility's completion and a chance to show off the facility for potential customers and residents who paid for the facility with a portion of a sales tax approved in 2015.

GODDARD – A male pygmy hippopotamus calf was born at Tanganyika Wildlife Park on the morning of June 26, to parents Pluto and Posie – marking a rare addition to a species with fewer than 3,000 individuals remaining in the wild. The new baby is named Mars.

GEA names scholarship winners

GODDARD – Two students have been named as the Goddard Education Association Excellence in Education scholarship winners. Beau Brunscheen-Cartagena of Goddard High School and Atticus Christinat of Eisenhower High School are the 2025 recipients. Brunscheen- Cartagena plans to major in psychology and elementary education.
