Savannah Jo Gamble of Clearwater and Carson Frederick Jobe of Goddard have been named to the president’s honor roll for their work in the spring 2026 semester at the University of Central Oklahoma, a distinction given to those who achieve the university’s highest academic standards.

From 1949 This week the Argonia Troopers 4-H club wishes to honor Betty Koehler. Betty has been a member for three years and secretary-treasurer of the local club for the past two years.

From July 1915 Ed Fuller fell from a silo at Ike Mayfield’s just before noon today and was badly hurt. It is not known at this time just how badly he was injured.

GODDARD – The future adequacy of the water supply for the City of Goddard continues to take steps forward after action by the city council at Monday’s meeting. The council approved a pair of task orders that will further a new water well the city has dubbed the Eberly Trails Municipal Well project.

CONWAY SPRINGS – Two ordinances were approved by the Conway Springs City Council at its most recent meeting on July 14. Council members approved Ordinance 1049 and the related Resolution 26-05, officially annexing a property located at 1041 W.

Sedgwick County Treasurer Brandi Baily has announced that the county’s satellite tage office will close at the end of this month. The office is located as the Kansas Driver Licensing office at 620 N. Rock Road.

CLEARWATER – A push to rebuild the floodprone youth baseball diamond at City Park stalled July 14, as the Clearwater City Council weighed a roughly $72,500 renovation against the timing of Fall Festival, which relies on the same ground for its October carnival.

CLEARWATER – Lex Rhoadarmer has been a fixture at Clearwater High School for three decades, but he is now calling it a career. The veteran educator recently retired after finishing his 30th year of teaching at CHS after spending eight years as a college admissions counselor for Sterling College.
