Teen dies in vehicle-pedestrian crash

PECK – The Sedgwick County Sheriff ’s Office is investigating a fatal vehicle- pedestrian crash that occurred on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, in south Sedgwick County. At approximately 4 p.m., deputies, along with Mulvane EMS and Sedgwick County Fire District 1, responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in the 11800 block of South Meridian.

9 Years Ago On Monday, April 10, a ribbon cutting was held at the new footbridge in Dorner Park. The footbridge was the last project completed by Haysville public works director Randy Dorner, who died unexpectedly in November.

Wheatland Electric to hold annual meeting

Cheney approves major street project

TSnews CHENEY – At last week's meeting, the Cheney City Council approved a major street reconstruction project covering a total of four blocks. Council members approved spending $279,840 to tear out and replace Second Avenue, from Main Street west to Filmore Street.
