TSnews HAYSVILLE – Each year, industrial arts students at Campus High School team up to provide toys for needy youth in the Wichita area. The students are part of the industrial arts classes taught by Brett Marrs, and they make 500 toys that are donated to Toys For Tots.

TSnews A renovation at the Library of Congress – one of the many jewels in the nation’s Capitol – has a local connection. Jacob Laha, a Clearwater native and Clearwater High School graduate, is serving as lead architect on a major project design to enhance the visitor experience at the Library of Congress.

Cheney State Park will host a 1.5-mile “First Day Hike” on Jan. 1 at 2 p.m.

TSnews CHENEY – Marc Yung has been named as the new president of the Sedgwick County Fair Association. Yung was voted in to lead the Fair's board of directors at its meeting earlier this month.

From December 1922 The Brethren, Presbyterian, Methodist, and Christian churches have planned for a splendid union service on Christmas night at eight o’clock. A program committee and committee on arrangements selected from the various churches have arranged entertainment and treats.

From December 1940 The Argonia Theater will present a double program at the Saturday night show, by bringing Teddy Combs in person to the stage, in addition to the regular picture. Teddy Combs, a popular radio singer, heard over KFBI on the Dinner Bell program and at 4:45 a.m., has many regular listeners here.
