Students make gifts for Toys For Tots

TSnews HAYSVILLE – Each year, industrial arts students at Campus High School team up to provide toys for needy youth in the Wichita area. The students are part of the industrial arts classes taught by Brett Marrs, and they make 500 toys that are donated to Toys For Tots.
Each year, Campus High School industrial arts students create 500 wooden toys to donate to Toys For Tots. This year’s toy is a fire truck, pictured at right. Previous toys have included airplanes, tanks, and trucks like the one pictured at left.

Laha leads renovation at Capitol icon

TSnews A renovation at the Library of Congress – one of the many jewels in the nation’s Capitol – has a local connection. Jacob Laha, a Clearwater native and Clearwater High School graduate, is serving as lead architect on a major project design to enhance the visitor experience at the Library of Congress.

From December 1940 The Argonia Theater will present a double program at the Saturday night show, by bringing Teddy Combs in person to the stage, in addition to the regular picture. Teddy Combs, a popular radio singer, heard over KFBI on the Dinner Bell program and at 4:45 a.m., has many regular listeners here.
