CLEARWATER – Ten delegates at the 2023 American Legion Boys State of Kansas have been elected mayor of their respective Kansas Boys State city. They were sworn in during a ceremony on June 5 by 2022 KBS Lieutenant Governor Lukas Haase, a resident of Overland Park, and 2023 graduate of Blue Valley Southwest High School.

GODDARD – The new Main Street Market in Goddard will make its debut this Sunday. Sponsored by the Goddard Chamber of Commerce, the Main Street Market will take place from 2 to 5 p.m.

HAYSVILLE – A free shred-it event will take place this Saturday at Haysville City Hall, 200 W. Grand.

HAYSVILLE – The annual Kids to Parks Day in Haysville, originally scheduled for last Saturday, will now take place on Saturday, June 17. It will run 10 a.m.

Staff report TSnews HAYSVILLE – A 10-yearold girl from Haysville is continuing to recover after being injured in a boating accident on May 26 at Winfield Lake. Rielynn Martin suffered significant head and brain injuries, according to the Facebook page Rally for Rielynn, and she faces a long recovery.

GODDARD – Goddard Public Schools and the greater community lost a beloved educator last week. Ryan Jilka, a 25-year educator for the school district, died Monday, May 29, at the age of 50.
