Do not fish with a gun Anglers take note – don’t use firearms. That’s the word from the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks after a person tried to use a 9mm gun to catch fish in Garden City last week.

TSnews For more than 20 years, I have been going to northern California, and specifically the San Francisco Bay Area, on family visits. During this time, it has become a second home to me, especially on the peninsula in and around San Mateo where my brother and his family now live, and in the South Bay, home to San Jose and the other communities that make up Silicon Valley.

Goddard resident publishes new photo book

TSnews “Kansas Is Beautiful.” That’s the title of the new self-published book from Goddard photographer Mickey Shannon, but it’s also a belief about the Sunflower State. Shannon has been working on his nature photography book since around 2015, and has been a professional photographer since 2007.

Food recalls happen almost daily for a variety of reasons, said Kansas State University food scientist Karen Blakeslee. Typically, we are not likely to hear about a recall in the news, unless it affects many people in multiple states or it affects us locally.

City approves plan to fix ballfield grass

TSnews CLEARWATER – At its meeting on April 25, the Clearwater City Council approved a plan to fix issues with the grass on its ballfields. The fields are used both by Clearwater High School and by the city’s recreation commission.

Car Show in Conway Springs will be able to serve alcohol

CONWAY SPRINGS – At next month's car show hosted by the Stock Tank in Conway Springs, organizers will be able to serve alcohol, thanks to last week's vote by the City Council. Jim Nichols presented an update on the Stock Tank car show scheduled for June 3, 2023, with a rain date of June 4, and asked if the council would allow alcohol on Spring Avenue between 5th Street and 4th Street.
