Art Walk returns to Clearwater on Friday

Former resident Helen Frances will be among artists showcasing their work CLEARWATER – The annual Clearwater Art Walk will take place this Friday. The free, family- friendly event will run 6-9 p.m.

Sumner County issues burn ban

WELLINGTON – The Sumner County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday adopted a county-wide burn ban that is in effect until at least noon on Tuesday, April 11. The burn ban will be considered next Tuesday during the county commission meeting, and could be extended for another seven days if conditions warrant.

Argonia Days won’t happen in May

ARGONIA – The annual Argonia Days celebration won’t take place on the third weekend of May, which has been the longtime date for the community event. In the past, Argonia Days has been held on the same weekend as Argonia High School graduation, with Argonia Days on Saturday and graduation on Sunday.

TikTok hearing misses the issues

Last week, members of the United States Congress set out to embarrass themselves, and as usual, they accomplished that goal. The decorum of a family newspaper prohibits me accurately describing the how the hearing into TikTok went, but let’s say it was some kind of a show.
