HAYSVILLE – It's been about a month since Mark Eastman took over as the new director of the Haysville Chamber of Commerce. He's familiar with a lot of what the Chamber does, however.
Sedgwick County Fire District 1 is reminding residents that a burn ban imposed by the State of Kansas will be in effect for Sedgwick County during the month of April. New open burn permits will not be issued during the month of April, and no current permit holders will be allowed to conduct open burns after March 31. Open burns can resume after May 1.
GARDEN PLAIN – Entries are now being accepted for the 2023 Garden Plain Fourth of July button design contest. Entries need to be submitted on 8-1/2 by 11-inch white card stock.
When storms roll in, they might bring along high winds, thunder and lightning and drops in temperature. Many people ride out storms indoors, but some may find themselves suddenly caught in a storm and not know what to do.
CONWAY SPRINGS – This year's Fall Fest will be held on Saturday, Sept. 23, and the theme will be “Rockin' N Rollin' Thru the Decades.” Conway Springs is like most small communities and has struggled to find a carnival company to come for its festival.
CLEARWATER – The Clearwater Fall Festival committee is already hard at work planning the 2023 festival. If you have an activity suggestion for this year, or would like to help with this year's festival, the committee members want to hear from you.
GODDARD – A meeting next week will address the expansion of opportunities for senior residents in the Goddard community. The Goddard Senior Center meeting will take place at 9:30 a.m Friday, April 7, at the Goddard Community Center located at 122 N.

GODDARD – After a highly successful first year, the Goddard Lions Club’s Larry Lee Memorial Car Show returns on Saturday for a second year. The Lions Club sponsored a car show for years as part of the Goddard Fall Festival, but a few years ago began laying the groundwork for a spring event.
