CHENEY – The Vinita Cemetery will hold its 41st annual meeting at 7 p.m. April 28.

HAYSVILLE – One of the more interesting and exciting classes offered at area high schools might be the meteorology class at Campus High School. The class got started four years ago and deals with the science of weather and how it works.

CHENEY – The annual Cheney Fire Department Car Show is being planned for the first Saturday in May, and members of the Cheney Chamber of Commerce continued to discuss the group's involvement with the event during the Chamber's monthly meeting last week.

CLEARWATER – During its meeting April 14, the Clearwater City Council unanimously adopted two resolutions moving the senior center expansion into its next financing phase.

HAYSVILLE – The Haysville City Council at its meeting on April 13 approved the city’s 2026 street program, which expects to resurface approximately 50,000 square yards of streets. One of the concrete projects will address one of the city’s busiest destinations – the Haysville Activity Center.

CONWAY SPRINGS – It will be a big deal when Bike Across Kansas rolls into town in June, and the Conway Springs City Council made note of that at its meeting last week.

GODDARD – The city’s new North Park will be built by Conco Construction, thanks to action taken at Monday’s Goddard City Council meeting. The council awarded a construction contract to Conco, which was one of three companies to submit bids.
