TSnews A new power transmission line for power provider Evergy is expected to cut across western Sedgwick County and through Sumner County on its way to Oklahoma. The Buffalo Flats Transmission Project is a proposed 345 kilovolt transmission line that would cover 133 miles through south-central Kansas.

CONWAY SPRINGS – Wheatland Electric Cooperative, in coordination with its generation and transmission provider, Sunflower Electric Power Corporation, has scheduled a planned power outage to allow for critical repairs to the transmission line serving the Conway Springs substation. The planned outage is scheduled to begin at 12 a.m.

A fuel truck lost control on an icy MacArthur Road in early January 2025, sliding into the south railing on the Ninnescah River bridge near 343rd Street West, near Cheney.
