HAYSVILLE – Campus High School has announced the hiring of two new head coaches. Taking over the girls basketball team will be Kim Carbonell.

CHENEY – The new officers team for the 2026-27 school year at the Cheney High School FFA chapter have been named. Hailey Wells with serve as president, with Mallory Riggs as vice president.

A tractor safety course for youth in a three-county area will be held in Mulvane on May 28. The class is for youth ages 14-15, and is for youth living in Sumner, Sedgwick and Cowley counties.

CHENEY – The annual Cheney Fire Department car show will be held this Saturday. Main Street will be shut down, and the event will begin at 11 a.m.

The Washburn University Dancing Blues danced their way to success, bringing home new hardware from the 2026 College Classic National Championship, held April 10-12 in Orlando, and closing their 2025–26 season on a high note.

HAYSVILLE – Several community events are slated to take place over the next few days in Haysville. A car seat check will take place from 9 a.m.

TSnews HAYSVILLE – There were three zoning matters on the Haysville City Council's April 13 agenda. The council agreed with the planning commission and passed an ordinance denying a request for vacation of a portion of a platted utility easement on which a structure was built.

Local actors and school productions have been named as nominees for the 24th annual Jester Awards Ceremony, which celebrates excellence in Kansas high school musical theater. The awards will take place at 3 p.m.

TSnews GARDEN PLAIN – Gard Field at Garden Plain High School will be getting a new track soon. The current track was installed right around the Millennium and is due to be replaced, said Garden Plain High School athletic director Cory Brack.
