From January 1925 January 1925 marked the final payment on the old waterworks bonds in Conway Springs. Although the old city plant has for years been long destroyed and the city has for years purchased water from the Frantz Water Company, the three percent bonds have been paid on at the rate of $500 annually for 26 years.

Riggs named Clearwater Citizen of the Year

TSnews CLEARWATER – Roy Riggs has had a unique journey to working in law enforcement. Riggs, who is a retired educator who helps the Clearwater Police Department as an armorer and firearms instructor while also serving as the custodian of the CPD evidence room, recently was honored as Clearwater’s Outstanding Citizen of the Year for his efforts.

Man dies in officer-related shooting near Haysville

Staff report TSnews A man is dead following a Monday morning shooting involving Sedgwick County Sheriff ’s deputies near 55th Street South and Hoover Road, northwest of Haysville. A citizen reported the individual, wearing no shirt and carrying a gun, walking on Hoover Road toward 55th Street South.

Body found at Lake Afton identified

Staff report TSnews GODDARD – A body discovered and recovered from Lake Afton on Saturday has been identified as that of a missing Wichita man. Late Monday, the Sedgwick County Sheriff ’s Office identified that body as that of 30-year-old Ian Shelton.

Higher water bills coming in Haysville

HAYSVILLE – Water customers in Haysville soon will see an increase in their monthly bills. The city council at its meeting Monday discussed raising the water and wastewater rates, as well as increasing monthly infrastructure fees for water and sewer.
