Swimmers make their marks at State

TSnews Members of the Campus and Clearwater swim teams took part in the State swimming and diving meet last Thursday through Saturday. After spending the season as a cooperative, the Colts and the Indians competed as separate teams in different classes.

AHS girls get past Caldwell

TSnews The Argonia Raiders girls basketball team used a strong second quarter to build up a 16-point halftime lead on the way to a 40-31 win over Caldwell last Tuesday night. “We came out really strong and had a great first half,” Argonia coach Dixie Brewster said.

Lady Colts find some offensive punch

TSnews The Campus Colts girls basketball team had its best offensive performance of the season in last Friday’s 58-42 road loss to the Hutchinson Salthawks. This was the first time all season the Colts have scored above 40 points.

Clearwater boys split pair of contests

TSnews The Clearwater Indians boys basketball team split a pair of games last week, winning 5940 at El Dorado last Tuesday, but losing 60-34 to Wellington last Friday. The Indians led El Dorado 16-10 after the opening period, and pushed their lead to 30-18 by the intermission.

Conway Springs drops close one

TSnews The Conway Springs Cardinals girls basketball team dropped a close contest to Medicine Lodge last Friday, 44-40, spoiling the Cardinals’ homecoming night. “Unfortunately, it came down to free throws,” Conway Springs coach Sheri Mercer said.

Cheney wins big at Med Lodge

TSnews If last week’s game at the 14-win Medicine Lodge Indians was a test, the Cheney Cardinals boys basketball team passed with flying colors by winning 59-31. Medicine Lodge is often a tough place for visiting teams to play, but the Cardinals took care of businesses by blowing out the Indians in the second half.

Med Lodge spoils CSHS homecoming

TSnews The Conway Springs Cardinals boys basketball team saw its four-game winning streak come to an end last Friday on homecoming with a 47-38 loss to the Medicine Lodge Indians. “We knew Medicine Lodge would be tough and they would present a couple of matchup challenges for us,” Conway Springs coach Paul Lange said.
