TSnews The Argonia Raiders and the Cedar Vale/ Dexter Spartans needed more than four quarters of basketball to decide last Friday’s boys basketball game at Cedar Vale. The game went to double- overtime before CVD prevailed 50-49, sending the Raiders to their third loss in a row.

TSnews The Clearwater Indians boys basketball team hit just five field goals after halftime Monday night as the Wichita Trinity Knights pulled away in the second half for a 63-31 victory. It was the fourth loss in a row for the Indians, who dropped to 4-11.

CS Cards edge Owls in CPL battle

TSnews The Conway Springs Cardinals girls basketball team and Garden Plain Owls engaged in a closefought contest from tip to buzzer last Friday, but the Cardinals ultimately came away with a 41-37 win. The win was doubly sweet for the Cardinals, who had lost several games in a row to Garden Plain, including two last year – one of which ended Conway Springs’ season in substate play.

TSnews The Garden Plain girls put up a good fight in their third basketball game in a month against the Cheney Cardinals, but it was the Cardinals who got the win, 41-33, on Jan. 30 at Cheney.

Argonia uses fast start to sprint past CVD

TSnews The Argonia Raiders girls basketball team used a fast start to pick up a nice bounce-back win at Cedar Vale/Dexter last Friday night, beating the Spartans 43-23. “Our team works hard on defense consistently and I’m so glad we came out strong offensively against Cedar Vale/ Dexter,” Argonia coach Dixie Brewster said.
