TSnews The Clearwater Indians girls basketball team limited Winfield to just three baskets the entire game and allowed the host Vikings to make just 9 percent of their shots (3for-37) in a 41-13 victory last Friday night. The Indians did not allow more than four points in any quarter last Friday and their defense was more than able to offset a tepid offensive performance.
Andrell Burton, Jr., shook off a rough night – well, a rough night for him – after scoring 17 points at Goddard, and exploded for a school record 45 points at the Newton Railers last Friday. On game night, Burton shook off an illness.
TSnews The Campus Colts swimming and diving team earned an impressive win at home last Thursday, dominating a seven-team meet with a margin of victory by nearly 100 points. The Colts scored 533, easily finishing ahead of Winfield (433), Derby (388) and Buhler (377).
The Campus Colts girls bowling team continued another championship-caliber season, winning the Great Plains Invitational at Bowlero Northrock last Friday. They bowled 2679, edging Wichita Northwest by 37 pins.
TSnews The Argonia Raiders girls basketball entered this week on a three-game winning streak after the Raiders downed Sedan 37-27 last Friday. “It feels really good to come out of our midseason slump and we’re playing much better,” Argonia coach Dixie Brewster said.
