Colts’ Connell, Garrett-Tillemans medal at 6A State

The Campus Colts brought home a pair of medals from last weekend’s Class 6A State track and field meet, held at Wichita State University’s Cessna Stadium. Cohen Connell vaulted a personal best of 12-6 to place seventh in the boys’ pole vault, clearing the height on his second attempt.

TSnews The Eisenhower girls and boys track teams garnered a nice handful of medals in the Class 5A competition at the State track and field meet, which took place at Wichita State University last Friday and Saturday. The girls garnered a total of four medals.

Cardinals earn medals at 2A State meet

TSnews The Conway Springs Cardinals captured four medals at the Class 2A State track and field meet, held at Cessna Stadium last Friday and Saturday. Zach Johnson had the highest finish, earning the lone boys’ medal for the Cardinals.

Andale-GP gets revenge, State berth

TSnews The third time was indeed a charm for the Andale-Garden Plain softball team. After losing both of its regular-season matchups to Rose Hill, Andale-GP won when it counted most against the Rockets, taking a 3-1 win over Rose Hill in last Wednesday’s Class 4A regional championship contest.

Washburn Rural shuts out Campuas

TSnews The Campus Colts could get nothing going against Washburn Rural in last Wednesday’s Class 6A regional semifinal and lost 6-0. Emily Dice, Rylie Miller, Kylah Parso and Gabi Stauffer had the Colts’ lone hits in the loss.

Colts just miss trip to State

TSnews The Campus Colts finished one win shy of making a trip to the State tournament, falling to Topeka 12-1 in a Class 6A regional championship game last Wednesday. Earlier in the day, Campus downed Junction City 7-1 in regional semifinal action.

Clearwater returning to 4A State softball

TSnews The Clearwater Indians picked a great time to play arguably their best softball of the year last Tuesday. The Indians downed Wellington 9-8 in nine innings in Tuesday’s Class 4 regional semifinal at Pratt, then downed host – and favorite – Pratt 14-3 in the finals that evening to punch their tickets to the Class 4A State tournament.
