Lions, Tigers go head-to-head at Goddard meet

TSnews The Goddard Lions and Eisenhower Tigers were joined by 11 other teams at last Friday’s Goddard Invitational track and field meet. The Eisenhower girls had the best team finish, placing third out of 13 teams with 69 points.

TSnews One of the best rivalries in the Central Plains League finally made its softball debut last week when the Conway Springs-Argonia Reds hosted the Cheney Cardinals last Thursday for the first time in program history. However, it was the visiting Cardinals who came away with two wins, taking the opener 21-0 and the nightcap 19-0.

Raiders win four events at at Pretty Prairie

The Argonia Raiders performed well at last Thursday’s William Crosley Invitational track and field meet, hosted by Pretty Prairie High School. The Argonia boys placed fifth out of nine teams with 57 points, and just missed a fourth-place finish, coming in two points behind Fairfield High School.

TSnews The Cheney Cardinals came out the winners – twice – in their first-ever meeting on the baseball diamond with the Conway Springs-Argonia Reds last Thursday. Cheney took the opener 10-0, then won the second game 16-0.
