Tigers record shutout over visiting Colts

On Thursday, April 6, the Eisenhower TIgers girls soccer team hosted the Campus Colts and won, 3-0. The Tigers goals were scored by Carly Hummell, Leila Kral and Bella Smith, with assists by Maddie Bracy, Reagen Best and Ava McAninch.

The Clearwater Indians softball team finds itself on a four-game winning streak after sweeping a pair of doubleheaders in the last week. The Indians routed Wichita East 17-0 and 20-0, respectively, last Thursday – then took two from Buhler on Monday, winning the opener 19-9 and the second game 18-2.

Baseball

The Cheney Cardinals baseball team picked up its first two wins of the season last Thursday against Chaparral, taking the first game of a doubleheader 12-0 and the nightcap 12-2. Cameron Eastman tossed a two-hitter in the opener, striking out five and walking two as he kept the Roadrunners off the scoreboard.

Teams compete at CS meet

Athletes show well at Shocker Pre-State

Athletes from Argonia, Campus, Cheney, Clearwater, Garden Plain and Goddard competed in last week’s Shocker Pre-State Challenge, held at Wichita State University in conjunction with the K.T. Woodman Collegiate meet.

Tigers perform at Pratt

Owls send small squad The Eisenhower Tigers boys track and field team placed second in the 10-team field at Pratt last week on Thursday, scoring 91 points. Hays won the meet with 139 points, and Pratt was third with 66 points.

Lions’ teams sixth at Maize South

The Goddard Lions track and field teams both placed sixth at last week’s Maize South meet, held on Thursday. The girls scored 28 points to place sixth out of eight teams, and the boys were sixth among nine teams with 27 points.

Teams compete in Markham Spring Classic

Body
On Saturday, all four boys tennis teams in the TSnews coverage area were in Goddard to compete in the John Markham Spring Classic. Eisenhower singles player Kyle King had the best result of any local player, defeating Topeka West’s Carter Cool 8-4 to claim third place.
