The Argonia Raiders’ lone track meet last week was rained out, as inclement caused a number of cancelations on April 25. The Raiders will be back in action this Thursday in Pretty Prairie at the William Crosley Invitational.

HAYSVILLE – After 36 years of coaching and teaching, including the last nine years at Campus High School as the Colts’ boys head basketball coach, Chris Davis is retiring. The announcement came out last week, when 8-year assistant Zac Kliewer was named as the new Colts’ head coach.

TSnews Decent weather graced the Campus track and field meet last Friday in Haysville, as 11 teams competed at Colt Stadium. The Campus girls were in a close battle in the middle of the field.

The Cheney Cardinals baseball team continued its recent hot streak last Thursday when it swept a doubleheader at home against Belle Plaine, taking the opener 18-8 and the nightcap 9-5. It was the Cardinals’ seventh win in its last eight games.

TSnews The Cheney Cardinals continued their hot start to the softball season last Thursday by sweeping a doubleheader from Belle Plaine, taking the first game 17-5 and the second 20-5. In the opener, Cheney pounded out 20 hits, led by four from Chesney Hoch.

TSnews The Eisenhower Tigers girls soccer team bested the host Goddard Lions in a cross-town rivalry match, 3-0 on April 20. Tigers head coach Roger Downing said that his team’s control of possession was a deciding factor.

TSnews The Conway Springs Cardinals had a good week on the tennis courts last week, winning two round robin meets. They won at Chaparral High School in Anthony on April 18, and at Valley Center on April 22.

TSnews Campus senior swimmer Sayler Roberts set a new school record, and in the process helped the Colts to a second-place finish at home on April 18. Roberts set a new school record in the 100-yard butterfly, winning the event with a time of 1:00.8.

TSnews The Eisenhower Tigers went west to Dodge City, and got back out of Dodge with a team championship. They shot 290 as a team – the only team to break 300 – and beat runner- up Bishop Carroll by 10 strokes Salina Sacred Heart (302) and Maize South (303) were next in the team standings.

TSnews The Clearwater Indians and Garden Plain Owls track teams competed together at Clearwater’s second home meet of the season, with 11 girls teams and 13 boys teams taking part. The Clearwater girls and Garden Plain boys had the best finishes.
