Body A scoreless first half cost the Goddard Lions in a 55-28 loss last Friday at the Maize Eagles. The Eagles ran out to a 27-0 halftime lead, putting the Lions in a hole they could not get out of.

Owls ride Emrick to big road victory

Body TSnews Emrick Hays ran for 327 yards and three touchdowns as the Garden Plain Owls took care of business in a 34-15 win against the host Trinity Academy Knights last Friday. Hays score the Owls’ first two touchdowns, including one on a 63-yard scamper, for a 14-0 lead.

Body TSnews The Argonia Raiders volleyball team started off its season in dominating fashion last Tuesday at Attica, sweeping a quadrangular with Attica, Pretty Prairie and South Haven. The Raiders downed Pretty Prairie 25-20, 2513, Attica 25-7, 25-9 and South Haven 25-13, 25-9.

Conway Springs hangs on for road victory

Body TSnews The Conway Springs Cardinals football team put up 28 first-half points in a road game at Nickerson, and held on for a 2820 win over the Panthers. The Cardinals struck first, scoring on a Logan Osner touchdown for a 6-0 lead in the first quarter.

Body The Eisenhower Tigers boys soccer team opened the season Aug. 29 with a 2-0 victory at Maize. Jayden Eckerman and Truman Hinton scored the goals, assisted by Austin Flesher and Luis Alfaro, while goalkeeper Jack Loibl made six saves.

Titans steamroll Patriots in home opener

Body TSnews The Argonia-Attica Titans opened the season with a dominating 60-12 victory over the West Elk Patriots in Argonia on Friday night. The Titans were already in control of the game after one quarter, doubling up the Patriots 24-12.
