All-league players named for softball

Softball all-league results for the Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League and Central Plains League have been released following the conclusion of State tournaments on May 29-30. AVCTL-IV The Clearwater Indians, who placed fourth in the Class 4A State tournament, took the top awards in the AVCTL’s Division IV.

Aviators have more ups than downs recently

TSnews The Haysville Aviators summer baseball team has had its ups and downs of late, going 3-2 in its last five contests entering this week. The Aviators fell to the Wichita Wildcats 12-8 last Wednesday, then swept a two-game home-andhome series with the Great Bend BatCats the next two nights.

With the conclusion of the high school baseball season, area leagues have announced their all-league selections for the 2025 season. Local teams played in three different divisions of the Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League and in the Central Plains League.

Curve shake off rain, take two of three

TSnews After seeing two of its games last week rained out, the Kansas Curve baseball team took two of its three weekend contests. The Curve beat El Dorado 6-4 last Friday, then won 5-4 at the Midwest Moos the next night before dropping a 6-5 decision at Valley Center on Sunday.

Aviators open week with come-from-behind win

TSnews The Haysville Aviators baseball team entered this week with a 7-5 record after an up-and-down stretch last week. The Aviators split a two-game series at home against the Hutchinson Monarchs last Tuesday and Wednesday, with Haysville winning 6-5 last Tuesday and the Monarchs winning 11-8 the next day.

Curve turns in strong week

TSnews The Kansas Curve collegiate baseball team took an 8-3 record into this week after winning four of its five games last week. The Curve beat the Wellington Heat 1-0 last Tuesday, then downed the Mulvane Patriots 11-6 two days later.

Family offers update on coach

GODDARD – Eisenhower High School softball coach Amber Brunswig is moving into a hospice, according to an update provided by her family. The coach suffered a cardiac event in early June, and updates have been shared on the Eisenhower Tigers softball team Facebook page.

Curve suffer 2-game skid

TSnews The Kansas Curve summer collegiate league baseball team suffered its first two losses of the season last Friday and Sunday, falling to the El Dorado Walnuts 8-7 last Friday and the Mulvane Patriots 8-5 on Sunday. Last Wednesday, the Curve beat the Park City Rangers 7-6.
