TSnews The Campus Colts girls soccer team lost twice last week, falling to Andover Central 3-0 on April 15, then losing a competitive match to Mulvane, 4-3, on April 17. Colts head coach Casey Reece said Andover Central is a good team.

TSnews The Goddard Lions girls soccer team hosted Winfield on Thursday, April 17, winning 10-2. “I gave the girls some very specific objectives and things to execute in that game; certain things they had to do in their buildup plays in order to score – and that’s what they did,” said Lions head coach Ali Heithoff.

Owls fly to sweep of home track meet

TSnews The Garden Plain girls and boys track and field teams picked up relatively easy victories at the Wayne Pipkin Invitational, the Owls’ home meet. The girls won with 173 points, while Wichita Northwest was second with 112.

TSnews The Eisenhower Tigers girls track and field team edged past Valley Center for a team victory at Augusta last week Thursday, edging the Hornets by a half-point, 90 to 89.50. The Clearwater Indians finished third with 78 points.

TSnews The Campus Colts and the combined Eisenhower and Goddard swim team competed last Thursday in a large 13-team meet in Haysville. Derby was the runaway winner with 465 points.

TSnews Young talent performed well for the Campus Colts at last Friday’s track and field meet at Maize. Freshman Jeramoni Metcalf-Jones had another good meet for the Campus girls, as she placed second in the 100-meter hurdles and third in the 300 hurdles.

TSnews The Clearwater Indians softball team continued its hot start to the spring as they took a doubleheader Monday against Circle, winning the opener 6-3 and the nightcap 7-6. Kaylee Hampton had three hits in the opener, while Makena Hampton homered and doubled and the trio of Madi Clevenger, Taylor Nielson and Liv Miller each had two hits.

TSnews The Eisenhower Tigers baseball team came into this week on a four-game winning streak after taking a a pair of doubleheaders last week, rolling at Liberal last Tuesday (14-5 and 13-2, respectively) and sweeping a pair at Newton last Friday (15-4 and 8-4). Ethan Trometer had four hits in the opener at Liberal, while Bryce Engel and Colton Doll had three apiece and the duo of Isiah Lyons and Jace Brunswig had two apiece.

Owls, Indians compete at Pratt

TSnews The Garden Plain Owls and Clearwater Indians were among the 12 girls teams and 10 boys teams who competed and earned points at last Friday’s track and field invitational at Pratt. The Garden Plain girls were in the mix in the top third of the field, finishing fourth with 58 points.
