The Campus Colts and Eisenhower-Goddard Tigers swim teams opened the season at Campus in Haysville on March 25. The Colts placed second among five teams with 333 points.
The Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League has named its all-league players for the 2024-25 season, across all four basketball divisions. Players from the Campus Colts, Clearwater Indians, Eisenhower Tigers and Goddard Lions were included on the list.
ARGONIA – Members of the Argonia Raiders girls and boys basketball team have been named to the South Central Border League’s all-league teams, as decided by the league coaches. Tori Morrision was one of six league players named to the first team.
The Cheney Cardinals boys basketball team nabbed all three of the top Central Plains League honors for the 2024-25 season. Joshua Burdick was named as the player of the year, and Jase Robertson was selected as defensive player of the year.
State basketball tournaments ended on Saturday, with 14 new State champions crowned – seven boys and seven girls teams across different classes. In Class 6A at Koch Arena, the Shawnee Mission Northwest boys defeated Olathe North 63-56 in a Johnson County-only final.

Things did not improve for the Cheney Cardinals in their Class 3A State tournament opener, as they lost 68-52 to the Goodland Cowboys last Thursday night at the Hutchinson Sports Arena.
TSnews A season in the doldrums ended with an exclamation point on March 5, when the 16th-seeded Eisenhower Tigers boys basketball team claimed an upset over the top-seeded Great Bend Panthers in the opening round of substate play, 62-60. “It was a great win for us, and probably the best we’ve played all season,” Tigers head coach Steve Blue said.
TSnews The Goddard Lions girls basketball team concluded its season in the first round of substate, falling at Arkansas City, 44-30, on March 4. They finished the season with a 7-14 record.
TSnews The Campus Colts and Derby Panthers boys basketball teams have a great Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League rivalry, even if the pendulum seems to swing strong to one side or the other. This year, the pendulum swung to Derby’s favor as the Panthers beat the Colts in all three meetings, including in last week’s Class 6A substate first-round game, a 73-43 victory for the Panthers in Derby that ended the Colts’ season.
