Body TSnews The Cheney Cardinals and Clearwater Indians played 18 holes at Eagles Pub and Golf Course in Kingman on April 15. Cheney was in contention for a team win, shooting 345 and finishing just three strokes behind champion Pratt.

Body TSnews The Cheney Cardinals softball team scored a total of 39 runs last Thursday to sweep a twin bill at Medicine Lodge, taking the opener 21-12 and the nightcap 18-2.

Body TSnews The Cheney Cardinals baseball team used dominant pitching and solid offense to sweep a doubleheader last Thursday at Medicine Lodge, taking the opener 4-0 and the nightcap 7-2.

Teams struggle at home meets

Body TSnews Two local tennis teams hosted boys meets recently, but neither had much success in home competition. The Campus Colts hosted an invitational on April 15.

Colts nab third place at home meet

Body TSnews The Campus Colts girls swimming and diving team finished up a run of five straight home swim meets to open the season, placing third in a 10-team meet on April 15. Derby was the easy winner with 436 points.

Tigers still unbeaten

Body TSnews The Eisenhower Tigers girls soccer team went into this week still unbeaten after a close call at Derby on April 17. The Tigers gave up a goal about five minutes into the game, head coach Roger Downing said.

Cards flock to Kingman, Halstead

Body The Cheney Cardinals track and field team did not compete last week. The team took part in the Kingman Invitational on Tuesday; results were not available at press time.

Colts grab medals at Great Bend

Body TSnews The Campus Colts track and field team brought home several medals from last Thursday’s performance at the Jack Bowman Invitational at Great Bend High School. The Campus girls were seventh among nine teams with 45 points, and the boys were eighth with 27 points.

EHS-GHS competes at Wichita North

Body TSnews The Eisenhower and Goddard girls swimmers and divers continued their inaugural season at Wichita North last week, taking part in a two-day meet. The Tigers placed 16th in the 18-team field.
