Lions lose to Maize South TSnews The Eisenhower Tigers girls soccer team continued its unbeaten start to the season last week, beating the visiting Campus Colts 8-2 on April 8, then winning 1-0 at Maize on April 10. The Colts got their two goals first, giving them a 2-0 lead early.

TSnews The Cheney Cardinals softball team downed the Conway Springs-Argonia Reds 11-1 in the thirdplace game of the Central Plains League tournament last Thursday. Cheney and the Reds both won earlier in the day to earn the right to play for third, as the Cardinals downed Medicine Lodge 11-2 and CSA beat Chaparral 14-2.

Colts win at home, Eisenhower takes 4th

TSnews The Campus and Eisenhower- Goddard swim teams competed in a seven- team meet last Thursday at the Glenn Crum Natatorium in Haysville. The Campus Colts had a good night, as the girls scored 526 points for a big win.

Eisenhower golfers place second at Andover

Goddard comes in eighth TSnews The boys golf season got off to an early start, as the Eisenhower Tigers and Goddard Lions competed at the Andover tournament at Crestview Country Club on March 31. The Tigers – who placed third at last year’s 5A State tournament – shot 307 to finish second and beat Bishop Carroll on a tiebreaker.

TSnews The Cheney Cardinals baseball team won two more games last Thursday at the Central Plains League tournament in Goddard, beating Medicine Lodge 11-3 and Wichita Trinity 5-2 to win the tournament. The Cardinals pounded out 13 hits against Medicine Lodge, with Reece Tolar and Kolt Kuhn leading the way with three apiece and Cameron Eastman adding a pair.

Raiders rained out

The Argonia Raiders will begin the track and field season this Friday at the Conway Springs participation meet. The Raiders were supposed to compete last Friday at Oxford, but cold and rain washed out that event.

Owls open season at ‘Bear’ track meet

TSnews The Garden Plain Owls kicked off the new track and field season last Thursday at Andale’s Paul “Bear” Schmidt Invitational. The meet honors the late Schmidt, the longtime Andale head coach.
