Body TSnews The Conway Springs Cardinals boys basketball team struggled in its first two games at the Marion tournament last week, but put it together in the tournament’s fifth-place game last Saturday with a 48-45 win over Wichita Central Christian.

Body TSnews The Garden Plain Owls picked up a victory in their season opener last Thursday, beating the visiting Wellington Crusaders 49-48 on a late shot by freshman Cooper Eck.

Body TSnews The Garden Plain Owls wrestling team got its season off to a solid start last weekend with a fifth-place finish at the El Dorado Invitational. The Owls finished fifth with 75 1/2 points, one-half point ahead of Burlingame and 7 1/2 points ahead of fourthplace Cheney.

Body TSnews The Clearwater Indians boys and girls wrestling teams earned six medals (five girls and one boy) at wrestling tournaments in Pratt last weekend. On the girls side, the Indians took fifth last Friday with 104 points and had five wrestlers place in the top four.

Body TSnews The Argonia Raiders girls basketball team had just six players available to play in last Friday’s season opener and ultimately could not keep pace with Pretty Prairie in a 46-23 loss. “We had a tough game to begin the season,” Argonia coach Dixie Brewster said.

Body TSnews The Eisenhower Tigers boys and girls wrestling teams opened their seasons last week with tournaments at Pratt and had three wrestlers – two girls and a boy – bring home medals from the events.
