WICHITA – Sedgwick County Environmental Resources will host a free household hazardous waste collection event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. this Saturday at Spirit AeroSystems, K-15 and MacArthur St., in Parking Lot P.

Following are next week’s menus for Friendship Meals and Meals on Wheels in both Sedgwick County and Sumner County. The recommended cost is $5 per meal, if you are able to pay.

ARGONIA – The seventh annual Argonia Car Show and Street Races will be this Saturday. Registration begins at 8 a.m.

TSnews Each weekday in the communities of Argonia, Cheney, Clearwater, Conway Springs, Haysville and now Goddard, healthy lunches are provided at senior centers and delivered to seniors ages 60 and older who are unable to get out. The meals are grouped into two categories, congregate and delivery.

Staff report TSnews CLEARWATER – Three days of Fall Festival excitement will be waiting for visitors in Clearwater this weekend. That excitement can be sampled this Friday evening as events get underway starting at 5 p.m.

TSnews Ron Witt and Shirley Palmer- Witt have been named grand marshals for the 2024 Clearwater Fall Festival. Clearwater Lions Club president Steve Hatfield said the couple was chosen for the honor based on their many volunteer involvements in the community.

CONWAY SPRINGS – A graduate of Conway Springs High School is being inducted into a Kansas college hall of fame. Robert “Bob” Estes was inducted into the Fort Scott Community College Hall of Fame on Aug.
