GODDARD – Dominic Hula of Goddard will appear in the Butler Community College performance of “The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane.” The show in El Dorado will be at 7 p.m. this Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with an additional show at 2 p.m.

TSnews GODDARD – A pair of accidents slowed traffic on Saturday night in Goddard as rain and storms moved through the area. The first accident happened at roughly 9 p.m.

TSnews HAYSVILLE – The Vickers Petroleum Service Station on Main Street in Haysville serves as a fantastic piece of history and is currently the home of the City of Haysville Development Office. Years ago, however, it was one of several gas stations within sight of each other.

CONWAY SPRINGS – Conway Springs is gearing up for the 33rd annual Fall Festival event, taking place this Saturday. The theme is “Circus Spectacular.” In addition to Saturday’s events, a few activities and food are scheduled for Friday night as well as a Sunday worship in the park.

TSnews WELLINGTON – Now that Janel Meyer is busy at college, she’s especially glad for her connection with Conway Springs and Sumner County. Meyer was the scholarship winner this year from the Sumner County Farm Bureau Association.

TSnews Byron and Heidi Wells and their family were honored recently as the Sedgwick County Farm Family of the Year. They were recognized at the July annual meeting of Sedgwick County Farm Bureau.

TSnews Ron Plinsky was honored as owner of a Century Farm – a farm that has been in his family for 100 years – during the Sedgwick County Farm Bureau banquet on July 29. Actually, Ron and his family have been eligible for the award for quite some time.

TSnews Randy and Deanna Woods are recipients of a Sedgwick County Farm Bureau Century Farm Award, honoring them and their family for 100 continuous years of ownership of the same agricultural land. Deanna is Randy’s mother, and Randy said he applied for the award primarily in honor of her.
