Body TSnews HAYSVILLE – The Haysville City Council, in a close vote at Monday’s meeting, decided not to pursue requests for proposals for a franchised trash service.

Body TSnews GARDEN PLAIN – At its meeting on July 5, the Garden Plain City Council hired the Kirkham Michael engineering firm to start the planning process for a sewage lagoon system that will replace its current sewer plant.

Body Davis Williams of Haysville won Saturday's Run to Cheney 5K race at the Sedgwick County Fair. Williams’ time was 18:01.4. He also placed second in the 1-mile race. Amy Driskill from Haysville was 8th overall and 4th among women in the 8-mile race from Garden Plain to Cheney.

Body SALINA – An accident at a construction site in Salina has led to $333,949 in proposed fines for a Cheney contractor. The fines were assessed following a January trench collapse that trapped two workers.
