Body Defense dominated the night as the Goddard Lions topped the Maize Eagles 7-3 last Friday at Goddard District Stadium. The victory helps erase the memories of the Lions’ heartbreaking playoff defeat to Maize last season.

Body The Conway Springs Cardinals began defense of their most recent State championship with a 42-0 victory over the visiting Nickerson Panthers. Nickerson is a larger school than Conway Springs, competing in Class 3A while the Cardinals are in 1A.

Body The Argonia-Attica Titans are looking to regroup after suffering a 46-0 shutout loss to the West Elk Patriots last Friday in Howard. Leading 10-0 after one quarter, the Patriots put up 28 points in the second quarter to take control of the game by halftime.

Body A dominating ground game and good defense powered the Garden Plain Owls to a season-opening home win last week on Thursday, as they beat the Trinity Academy Knights 49-14. The Owls racked up 354 rushing yards, with two players topping 100 yards.
