TSnews The Cheney Cardinals girls golf team made the most of playing in its first 18-hole tournament of the season last Thursday as the Cardinals won the Kingman Invitational. Despite playing in record high temperatures and gusty winds, the Cardinals won the tournament with a score of 420, outdistancing their opponents by 27 strokes.

TSnews The Goddard Lions celebrated returning to the volleyball court after an 11-day layoff in the best way imaginable – by winning a tournament. The Lions won all five of their matches last Saturday at the Southeast Volleyball Invitational at Wichita Southeast High School to capture the tournament title and improve to 9-10 on the season.

TSnews The Clearwater Indians dropped their first football contest of the year last Friday, losing 35-14 at the previously winless Wellington Crusaders in Sellers Park. This was no regular 0-2 team, however.

TSnews The Argonia-Attica Titans delivered a good allaround performance last Friday, with a 48-24 win over the Cedar Vale-Dexter Spartans on homecoming night in Argonia. Carson Vineyard and Andrew Bennett each scored two first-half touchdowns to help the Titans to a 28-14 halftime lead.

TSnews The Eisenhower Tigers football team, ranked as high as No. 4 in Class 5A polls, improved their record to 3-0 with a 49-7 win over the Newton Railers in their first road game of the year.

TSnews With four touchdowns and 30 points in the first half, the Conway Springs Cardinals cruised to a 42-0 football victory over the visiting Bulldogs on homecoming night. Four different players scored touchdowns, with Isaac Winter scoring three of them.

TSnews Every game between the Conway Springs Cardinals and Garden Plain Owls seems to be a close one. That was the case again last Friday in Garden Plain as Conway Springs won the first time in five games.

TSnews Three first-half touchdown passes from Derek Morgan to Carter Pabst helped the Eisenhower Tigers defeat the Goddard Lions 32-21 on Friday at Goddard District Stadium. The Tigers never trailed, but the Lions never really went away either.

TSnews The Clearwater football team is off to a 2-0 start this summer following last week’s 42-13 win at the El Dorado Wildcats. It is still early, but the Indians seem to be improved after already matching their 2023 win total.
