TSnews The Conway Springs Cardinals took part in last Friday’s Wayne Pipkin Invitational at Garden Plain. This was a participation meet with unlimited entries, and no team scores were kept.

Raiders earn gold medals

TSnews The Argonia Raiders went to Kiowa on April 9 to take part in the South Barber Invitational. The Raiders earned a pair of first-place finishes, and put athletes in the medal contention (top 6) in eight events.

Colts to host track meet

The Campus High School track and field team will host its annual meet this Friday at Colt Stadium in Haysville. The meet begins at 3:30 p.m.

Cheney’s Lynch wins at Sterling

TSnews Aiden Lynch shot a low score of 75 on Monday at Sterling Country Club, helping the Cheney Cardinals to a second-place finish. They came in just behind Ellinwood, which shot four strokes better than Cheney to win with a 327 team score.

Swimming

The Campus Colts were second out of eight schools at their home meet last week on Thursday. McPherson was the big winner with 565 points.

Softball

TSnews The Campus Colts softball team ran its winning streak to 10 games as it swept a trio of doubleheaders last week. Campus swept Salina South 11-9 and 7-6, respectively, last Tuesday, then took a pair at Wichita Heights last Thursday (15-1 and 18-0) and also took two from Hutchinson last Friday (15-3 and 15-10).

Baseball

By Michael Buhler The Goddard Lions baseball team entered this week on a six-game winning streak after sweeping a pair of twin bills last week. The Lions took two from Valley Center last Tuesday (13-3 and 4-3, in that order), then won twice at Arkansas City last Friday (9-0 and 5-0).

Teams compete at Conway Springs track meet

TSnews Conway Springs held its participation track and field meet Friday, with Cheney and Argonia among the teams in attendance. With a heavy advantage in roster size, Cheney was able to dominate the meet.

Ike soccer beats Campus in Clearwater

TSnews The Campus Colts girls soccer team hosted the Eisenhower Tigers at the home field of their co-op partner, Clearwater High School, last Thursday. The Tigers got the better of the matchup, winning 9-1.
