As the weather gets warmer, motorists can expect an increase in motorcycle traffic. With May being Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month, the Kansas Department of Transportation and The Drive To Zero Coalition emphasize that cooperation from all road users will help reduce the number of fatalities and injuries on the state’s highways.

Goddard boys 1st at Andover, EHS girls and boys 2nd

TSnews The Goddard and Eisenhower boys battled for supremacy at the Andover Invitational on April 16, and the Eisenhower girls finished second as well at the 12-team track meet. Goddard scored 115 points, edging Eisenhower by 17 points for the boys’ championship.

Colts and Tigers continue to shine

TSnews The Campus Colts and Eisenhower Tigers turned in strong performances at last Friday’s Campus track meet at Colt Stadium in Haysville. Campus High’s BreAna Garrett-Tillemans gave the home crowd at Colt Stadium a good show, with gold-medal performances in the 100 and 200 meters and in the 300-meter hurdles.

Owls and Indians run at Clearwater

TSnews Clearwater hosted its second track meet of the season last Friday, with Garden Plain among the eight teams competing. The Garden Plain girls had the best local team finish, as they placed third with 83 points.

TSnews The Eisenhower Tigers softball team entered this week on an eight-game winning streak after sweeping a pair of doubleheaders last week. The Tigers swept Arkansas City last Tuesday, 5-2 and 11-7, respectively, then took a pair from Salina Central last Friday, 7-2 and 5-2.
