TSnews The Garden Plain Owls had a trio of wrestlers come away as champions at last Thursday’s Central Plains League tournament at Chaparral High School in Harper County. As a team, the Owls finished third with 77 points, 13 ahead of fourth-place Douglass.

The Goddard Lions girls wrestling team will be represented by one girl at the State tournament after Audrie Felkins placed fourth at 115 pounds at last Saturday’s Class 6A-5A regional at Dodge City.

TSnews The Cheney Cardinals wrestling team turned in perhaps its best performance of the season last Thursday as the Cardinals won the Central Plains League tournament championship for the first time in school history.

TSnews The Argonia Raiders boys basketball team could not have picked a better way to halt a four-game losing streak last Friday night. Hosting the Flinthills Mustangs for homecoming, the Raiders rallied from a five-pount halftime deficit and won 41-39 on Carson Vineyard’s buzzer- beater.

TSnews Down 44-36 at the start of the fourth quarter, the Eisenhower Tigers boys basketball team surged to force overtime and claim a 59-53 win at Salina Central on Friday, Feb. 9.

The Eisenhower bowling teams beat the rival Goddard Lions teams Feb. 9 at Bowlero Northridge, the home lanes for both teams.

State swimming and diving starts this Thursday, and swimmers from Campus and Clearwater will be there. The Campus Colts 200-yard medley relay team will be seeded 20th out of 27 teams in Class 6A.
