TSnews The Campus Colts picked up their second consecutive victory on Monday night, winning at home 59-50 over the Derby Panthers in a game that was originally scheduled for Jan. 5.
TSnews The Clearwater Indians girls basketball team held a 10-point lead in the third period and led until the game’s final 20 seconds last Tuesday at Mulvane, but ultimately fell 42-41 to the host Wildcats. The Indians led 25-19 at the intermission and extended their lead to double digits before Mulvane rallied to cut the lead to three points (33-30) by the start of the fourth quarter.
TSnews The Argonia Raiders girls basketball team used a strong third quarter to take control of a close game to pull away for a 44-27 win over Central Burden last Saturday in the seventh-place game at the South Central Border League Tournament. The Raiders led 6-5 after the first period, but pushed their lead to 20-15 by halftime.
TSnews The Clearwater Indians boys basketball team continued its resurgence on the hardwood last week as it won two of its three games at the Chaparral Classic to place fifth at the annual event. Clearwater (4-8) clinched the tournament’s consolation bracket last Saturday with a 65-54 win over Reno County.
Campus Colts’ guard Andrell Burton, Jr., hit a major career milestone at Dodge City’s Tournament of Champions. He passed the 1,000-point mark for his career during Friday’s loss against Olathe East.
TSnews The Clearwater Indians wrestling team racked up several achievements last week, but the biggest one might have been last Thursday when the Indians defeated Andale 36-32 in a dual. “The Andale dual was a big step in the right direction for our program,” Clearwater coach Cooper Ross said.
TSnews The Conway Springs Cardinals girls basketball team found itself in a 10-point hole at halftime last Tuesday and never could fully recover in a 5750 loss to the Chaparral Roadrunners. The Cardinals (4-6) trailed by just three points (20-17) after the opening period, but managed just two baskets in the second quarter and trailed 31-21 at halftime.
TSnews The Garden Plain Owls boys basketball team exploded out of the gate Tuesday night, racing to a 22-7 first-quarter lead at the Trinity Academy Knights. They rode that momentum to a 64-41 victory.
The Campus Colts swimming and diving team swims twice this week after being idle last week. The Colts started the week on Tuesday with a meet hosted by Derby, although the meet took place at Campus High School, which is the Panthers’ home pool.
