Body TSnews The Argonia Raiders girls basketball team found the second time was not a charm Monday night as it fell 41-36 to the West Elk Patriots in the quarterfinals of the South Central Border League Tournament. It was the Raiders’ second loss in four nights to West Elk.

Body TSnews The Conway Springs Cardinals girls basketball team got the new year off to the start it hoped for last Thursday with a 59-25 rout of Douglass. The Cardinals led 22-17 at the intermission, but used a strong third period to lead 41-20 going to the fourth quarter.

Body TSnews The Garden Plain Owls won a close battle at the Medicine Lodge Indians last Friday, winning 49-47. The victory helped the Owls bounce back from a loss earlier in the week against Trinity Academy.

Body TSnews The Clearwater Indians girls basketball team played a strong first three quarters Monday, but could not hold off a fourth-period surge by Wellington as the Crusaders rallied for a 59-48 win.

Body TSnews A rough third quarter by the Campus Colts boys basketball team made the difference in a 49-41 home loss to the Maize South Mavericks, the topranked team in Class 5A. The Colts and Mavericks were tied at 24 at halftime.

Body TSnews The Clearwater Indians boys basketball team fell behind early as the Wellington Crusaders pulled away in the second period for a 57-39 win Monday night. Wellington led the Indians 13-8 after the first quarter before pushing its lead to 30-12 at halftime.

Body TSnews The Campus Colts girls basketball team struggled to score in their return to the court last Friday, losing 75-21 to the visiting Maize South Mavericks, the No. 6 team in Class 5A.

Body The Eisenhower Tigers girls bowling team won last Friday’s baker’s tournament at Bowlero Northridge. The Tigers scored 2895, edging Bishop Carroll and Wichita Northwest in a tight battle.

Body TSnews The Cheney Cardinals wrestling team had five wrestlers – four boys and a girl – finish in the top six at last weekend’s Halstead Invitational. “We made improvement from last week,” Cheney coach Kevin Schultz said.

Body TSnews The Campus Colts wrestling team competed in a pair of tournaments last Saturday, with the boys heading to Kapaun-Mt. Carmel for the Duwane Miller Invitational and the Colts’ younger girls heading to the Clearwater Invitational.
