TSnews The Conway Springs Cardinals girls basketball team and Garden Plain Owls engaged in a closefought contest from tip to buzzer last Friday, but the Cardinals ultimately came away with a 41-37 win.

TSnews The Garden Plain girls put up a good fight in their third basketball game in a month against the Cheney Cardinals, but it was the Cardinals who got the win, 41-33, on Jan. 30 at Cheney.

TSnews The Argonia Raiders girls basketball team used a fast start to pick up a nice bounce-back win at Cedar Vale/Dexter last Friday night, beating the Spartans 43-23.

TSnews The Eisenhower Tigers girls basketball team lost to both Andover schools, Andover and Andover Central, last week. The home game versus Andover Central, played Friday, Feb.

Last Tuesday, the Cardinals struggled to make shots as they lost to Kingman 50-42. Conway Springs made just 11 of its 64 shots in the game (17 percent), including just seven of its 43 shots inside the arc (16 percent).

TSnews The Campus Colts and Goddard Lions battled to the buzzer on Jan. 30 in Goddard, with the visiting Colts coming away with a 53-52 victory.

Following are next week’s menus for Friendship Meals and Meals on Wheels in both Sedgwick County and Sumner County. A change was made recently, and there are now different menus for Sedgwick County and Sumner County.

TSnews The Clearwater Indians girls basketball team limited Winfield to just three baskets the entire game and allowed the host Vikings to make just 9 percent of their shots (3for-37) in a 41-13 victory last Friday night.

Andrell Burton, Jr., shook off a rough night – well, a rough night for him – after scoring 17 points at Goddard, and exploded for a school record 45 points at the Newton Railers last Friday. On game night, Burton shook off an illness.
