Clearwater boys fall against Wellington

TSnews The Clearwater Indians boys basketball team fell behind early as the Wellington Crusaders pulled away in the second period for a 57-39 win Monday night. Wellington led the Indians 13-8 after the first quarter before pushing its lead to 30-12 at halftime.

The Eisenhower Tigers girls bowling team won last Friday’s baker’s tournament at Bowlero Northridge. The Tigers scored 2895, edging Bishop Carroll and Wichita Northwest in a tight battle.

Flock of Cardinals shine at Halstead

TSnews The Cheney Cardinals wrestling team had five wrestlers – four boys and a girl – finish in the top six at last weekend’s Halstead Invitational. “We made improvement from last week,” Cheney coach Kevin Schultz said.

TSnews The Campus Colts wrestling team competed in a pair of tournaments last Saturday, with the boys heading to Kapaun-Mt. Carmel for the Duwane Miller Invitational and the Colts’ younger girls heading to the Clearwater Invitational.

Lions take second at Newton tourney

TSnews The Goddard Lions boys wrestling team had five wrestlers finish in the top eight to help the Lions take seventh at last weekend’s Newton Tournament of Champions. “The Newton Tournament of Champions is the toughest in-state tournament we wrestle at all year,” Goddard boys coach Brett Means said.

The American Red Cross is experiencing an emergency blood shortage as the nation faces the lowest number of people giving blood in 20 years. The Red Cross blood supply has fallen to critically low levels across the country, and blood donors are urged to make a donation appointment to help alleviate the shortage and help ensure lifesaving medical procedures are not put on hold.

Indians take second at own invite

TSnews The Clearwater Indians boys wrestling team had two champions and two more in the finals as the Indians took second last Saturday at their own Clearwater Invitational. On the girls side, the Indians took eighth as a team on the strength of three fourth-place individual finishes.
