The visiting Andover Central Jaguars beat the Campus Colts girls basketball team 66-13 last week on Tuesday in Haysville. The Colts struggled to generate much offense in falling to 0-2.
The Conway Springs Cardinals lost their season-opening game to the rival Garden Plain Owls. It was the Cardinals’ fifth straight loss to the Owls, and the second time in two years they lost their season opener to Garden Plain.
The Cardinals made an opening-week statement by putting up 34 unanswered points in a beatdown of the Eagles. The Eagles, the Class 2A State runners-up in 2022, jump-started last season with a two-touchdown win at Cheney, This year, the Cardinals left no doubt who was the better team in the rematch.
