Tigers beat Salina Central, fall to Andover Central

Body TSnews The Eisenhower Tigers girls soccer team went 1-1 last week, beating Salina Central 10-0 on Tuesday, April 25, before falling 3-1 at Andover Central on April 27. Mackenzie Jordan had a hat trick during the blowout versus Salina Central.

Raiders washed out at Central

Body The Argonia Raiders’ lone track meet last week was rained out, as inclement caused a number of cancelations on April 25. The Raiders will be back in action this Thursday in Pretty Prairie at the William Crosley Invitational.

Colt’s coach Davis to retire

Body HAYSVILLE – After 36 years of coaching and teaching, including the last nine years at Campus High School as the Colts’ boys head basketball coach, Chris Davis is retiring.

Body The Cheney Cardinals baseball team continued its recent hot streak last Thursday when it swept a doubleheader at home against Belle Plaine, taking the opener 18-8 and the nightcap 9-5. It was the Cardinals’ seventh win in its last eight games.

Body TSnews The Cheney Cardinals continued their hot start to the softball season last Thursday by sweeping a doubleheader from Belle Plaine, taking the first game 17-5 and the second 20-5. In the opener, Cheney pounded out 20 hits, led by four from Chesney Hoch.

Eisenhower wins 3-0 at Goddard

Body TSnews The Eisenhower Tigers girls soccer team bested the host Goddard Lions in a cross-town rivalry match, 3-0 on April 20. Tigers head coach Roger Downing said that his team’s control of possession was a deciding factor.

Cardinals tennis squad wins 2 meets

Body TSnews The Conway Springs Cardinals had a good week on the tennis courts last week, winning two round robin meets. They won at Chaparral High School in Anthony on April 18, and at Valley Center on April 22.

Roberts swims to new Campus school record

Body TSnews Campus senior swimmer Sayler Roberts set a new school record, and in the process helped the Colts to a second-place finish at home on April 18. Roberts set a new school record in the 100-yard butterfly, winning the event with a time of 1:00.8.
