Teams compete in Markham Spring Classic

Body On Saturday, all four boys tennis teams in the TSnews coverage area were in Goddard to compete in the John Markham Spring Classic. Eisenhower singles player Kyle King had the best result of any local player, defeating Topeka West’s Carter Cool 8-4 to claim third place.

Derby edges Colts for meet victory

Body The Derby Panthers beat the Campus Colts in an 11-team meet held at the Glenn Crum Natatorium at Campus High on April 11. The Panthers and Colts were by far the two best teams, but the Panthers were clear winners.

Indians take small squad to Valley Center

Body With much of the field competing at the Shocker Pre-State meet at Wichita State University (see related story), the Clearwater Indians track and field team sent a smaller squad to last Thursday’s Valley Center Invitational.

Tigers win Andover Central invite

Body The Eisenhower Tigers boys golf team shot 287 – one of just two teams to break 300 – to win Monday’s Andover Central invitational at Terradyne Country Club. The Tigers beat Andover Central by just six strokes.

Baseball

Body The Eisenhower Tigers started their baseball season in strong fashion last Friday with a sweep of the Campus Colts in Haysville, taking the opener 15-0 and the nightcap 8-4.
