Body TSnews The Cheney Cardinals softball team continued its winning ways by sweeping two more doubleheaders. Cheney took two at Medicine Lodge last Thursday (20-0 and 17-4, respectively), then came home and swept Douglass Monday by scores of 9-0 and 15-0.

Baseball

Body TSnews The Campus Colts baseball team seemed to find its groove last week, sweeping a pair of doubleheaders to get on a winning streak. Campus took two at Salina South last Tuesday (3-0 and 3-2, respectively), then rolled to a sweep at Hutchinson last Friday (12-1 and 11-4).

Argonia’s Love sets new school record

Body TSnews Lakelyn Love set a new Argonia school record for high jump during the April 11 track meet at South Barber High School in Kiowa. Love, who went to State as a freshman last year, set a new record of 5-1.

Teams compete at home meets

Body TSnews Three out of four tennis teams in the TSnews area had home events last week. The Campus Colts hosted a five-team round robin event on April 11.

Colts’ Garrett-Tillemans sets another school

Body TSnews Campus High School runner BreAna Garrett-Tillemans set a new school record in the 200 meters at the Colts’ meet last week at Great Bend. Garrett-Tillemans won the 200 with a time of 26.20 at the Jack Bowman Invitational.

Cheney leads local teams at Kingman

Body TSnews The Cheney Cardinals turned in the low score out of three local teams that golfed in the Kingman Invitational on April 11. The Cardinals shot 370, which beat Kingman by three strokes and Pratt by six strokes.

Eisenhower girls, Goddard boys take second at Augusta

Body TSnews The Clearwater Indians, Eisenhower Tigers and Goddard Lions competed at last Friday’s Augusta Varsity Invitational track and field meet. The best team results came from the Eisenhower girls and Goddard boys team, both of which placed second out of 11 teams.
