TSnews The Clearwater Indians boys basketball team saw its losing streak hit five games in a row as they fell to its Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League Division IV rival, the Wellington Crusaders, 51-39 last Friday night. The Indians (2-7) trailed 15-10 after the opening period and were down 24-17 at the intermission.

Veach fourth at Ellsworth

TSnews The Cheney Cardinals opened the 2026 portion of their schedule last weekend at the 52nd Ellsworth Wrestling Tournament, with one Cardinals wrestler landing in the top four. Colton Veach (165 pounds) won two of his three pool matches to make it to the thirdplace match at the tournament, where he fell to Garden Plain’s Carter Tatom by a 12-3 major decision.

TSnews The Conway Springs Cardinals boys basketball team ran up against one of the top teams in the state last Friday when Central Plains League rival, the Chaparral Roadrunners, came to town and came away with a 59-53 win over the Cardinals. The game was close throughout, with both teams tied at 16 after the opening period, and the Cardinals leading Chaparral, ranked 10th in this week’s Kansas Basketball Coaches Association poll in Class 3A, 31-30 at the intermission and 41-39 going to the fourth quarter.

Conway Spring girls keep winning

TSnews The Conway Springs Cardinals girls basketball team continued its recent strong play as it rolled to a 55-25 win last Friday against Central Plains League rival Chaparral. The Cardinals took a 16-3 lead after the first period and led 31-15 at halftime, then extended their lead to 51-19 by the start of the fourth quarter.

Lady Colts best North

TSnews The Campus Colts topped the Wichita North Redhawks 61-35 last Thursday at Heartland Credit Union Arena, picking up their second victory of the season. The win improved the Colts’ record to 2-6.
