The Campus Colts boys basketball team won a pair of games and placed fifth at the 12th annual Thunder Classic, hosted by Nemaha Central. Campus wrapped up its trip to Seneca, where Nemaha Central is located, with a 60-45 win over Marysville.

Indians down Dragons for seventh at Chaparral

The Clearwater Indians boys basketball team halted a nine-game losing streak by downing the Belle Plaine Dragons 56-44 last Friday in the seventh-place game at the Chaparral Roadrunner Classic. It also was the third win of the season for the Indians (3-11).

Tigers girls win two at Ralph Miller

Eisenhower’s girls basketball team opened the Ralph Miller Classic in Chanute with backto- back wins, beating Coffeyville’s Field Kindley High School 49-16 on Thursday, Jan. 22, and Louisburg 58-44 on Friday, Jan. 23. Saturday’s championship against Sunrise Christian was postponed because of weather and may not be played.

Tigers fifth at Campus swim meet

With a late schedule change due to the cancelation of a Saturday swim meet, the Eisenhower and Goddard swim team jointed the 11-team field at Campus High School last Thursday. The Tigers did well, placing fifth.

The Eisenhower Tigers boys basketball team went 1-1 at the Ralph Miller Classic midseason tournament in Chanute, falling to Bishop Miege 70-50 on Thursday, Jan. 22, before bouncing back to beat Coffeyville-Field Kindley 68-40 on Friday, Jan. 23.

Cardinals finish fourth at Roadrunner Classic

The Conway Springs Cardinals boys basketball team fought hard, but ultimately fell to the Mulvane Wildcats 61-51 last Friday in the third-place game of the Chaparral Roadrunner Classic. “We knew Mulvane was a good team,” Conway Springs coach Paul Lange said.

The Argonia Raiders girls basketball team got out to an early lead and never looked back as it rolled past the Flinthills Mustangs 51-23 last Friday to win the South Central Border League Tournament at Cowley College in Arkansas City.
