HAYSVILLE – AAA Kansas has presented Ellie Reid, a fifth grader at Nelson Elementary School in Haysville, with its AAA Outstanding Safety Patroller of the Year award during the school’s live student-run news broadcast. “AAA Kansas is pleased to recognize Ellie Reid with the AAA Outstanding Safety Patroller of the Year award because of her excellent work in keeping fellow students safe, her leadership, and her commitment to the true spirit of what it means to be a AAA School Safety Patroller,” said Shawn Steward, public affairs manager for AAA Kansas.

Clearwater reviews developer's incentive request

Cheney Chamber hears essays from scholarship winners

TSnews CHENEY – It was an inspiring day at last week's Cheney Chamber of Commerce meeting, as members heard essay presentations from four local scholarship winners. Two of the scholarship winners had received $500 scholarships each from the Cheney Chamber of Commerce.

Harrison named 'Teacher of Promise'

CHENEY – Southwestern College student Cierra Harrison is one of two students named as “Teachers of Promise” by the education faculty. Harrison, a senior from Cheney, plans to teach math next school year at Burlington High School in Burlington. Harrison also was presented with the Leo Award for leadership.
