HAYSVILLE – A man has died following an officer-involved shooting in Haysville. Police chief Jeff Whitfield provided a press release on Wednesday morning that offered some detail into what transpired on Tuesday evening.

SUMNER COUNTY – A Kansas Turnpike Authority project on the U.S. 166 bridge over I-35/ Kansas Turnpike will soon close U.S. 166 at the bridge and result in a detour. This is at the South Haven Exit, just north of the Oklahoma border.

Members of Wheatland Electric Cooperative, Inc., will receive ballots by mail later this month to vote for trustees for the first time in cooperative history. Ballots will be mailed March 29 and must be returned by mail by April 19, which is at least five days prior to this year’s annual meeting on April 24, as established by cooperative bylaws.
