CLEARWATER – The annual Clearwater Art Walk will take place this Friday. The free, family- friendly event will run 6-9 p.m in downtown Clearwater.

Campus hosts – and wins – first-ever State barbecue

TSnews HAYSVILLE – Seven teams from four schools converged in the Campus High School parking lot on Saturday for the first-ever Kansas high school state barbecue competition. In addition to the high school teams, there was a separate open competition that drew six teams.

CSMS names honor roll students

CONWAY SPRINGS – With the third quarter of the 2023-24 school year now complete, Conway Springs Middle School has named its honor roll students for the third nine weeks. Students were named to either the principal’s honor roll or were named honorable mention, based on grade-point average.

Wichita State University has announced the names of 3,686 students who were on the dean's list for fall 2023. To be included, students must be enrolled full time and earn a gradepoint average of 3.5. The following Wichita area students were honored.

Nebraska names students to dean's list

Four local students have been named to the dean's list for the fall semester at the University of Nebrask- Lincoln. The students honored include Lucy Boyles of Mayfield, a junior majoring in forensic science; Ethan Ellingson of Goddard, a junior majoring in accounting and finances; Rachel Grant, a senior majoring in accounting and music; and Kiara Pavlik, a senior majoring in microbiology..

WELLINGTON – The Sumner County Historical Society needs your help. A little more than a year ago, Jane Moore, president of the Sumner County Historical & Genealogical Society, was organizing the SCHGS’s historic postcard collection into the different towns.

New wheat varieties coming from K-State

Two new wheat varieties have been released from the Kansas State University wheat breeding program and are being licensed by Kansas Wheat Alliance seed associates for farmers to plant this fall. Hard red winter (HRW) wheat KS Bill Snyder, named after the legendary football coach, will be available in limited supply this fall.
