Schools attend theater workshop

More than 250 high school students attended the 35th annual Sterling College Theatre Workshop last week. The event included two workshop sessions and a special matinee performance of the play “Baskerville.” Students from 18 schools from Lawrence to Liberal attended.

City of Garden Plain announces flag contest

GARDEN PLAIN – The City of Garden Plain is holding a design contest to create a city flag/logo. The winning design will be a brand that serves a symbol for the community, representing the past, present and future.

Extension Seed tape is a method of preparing seeds for planting that reduces the amount of time spent bending over the ground. Kansas State University horticulture expert Cynthia Domenghini said seed tape makes it easier to handle small seeds and get proper seed spacing.

College rocketry teams to battle for Argonia Cup

ARGONIA – This Saturday and Sunday, college rocketry teams from across the country will converge in a field south of Argonia to compete for the annual Argonia Cup, one of the events hosted by the KLOUDBusters rocketry group. The Tripoli Rocketry Association, Inc., is co-hosting the Argonia Cup.

Scott earns WSU scholarships

GODDARD – Karaline Scott, a senior a Goddard High Schools, has been named as the a recipient of two different major scholarships from Wichita State University. Scott was one of three students named as 2024 recipients of the Harry Gore Memorial Scholarship.

CS may go back to two meetings a month

TSnews CONWAY SPRINGS – After several months of having just one meeting a month, the Conway Springs City Council is likely to approve going back to two meetings a month. The first step in undoing that change will come next week when the council meets for a second monthly meeting on Tuesday, March 26.

Clearwater City Council meets
